Medical conditions can affect us all – including animals.

Sometimes, for some animals, a medical condition can mean that they won’t be able to live a normal life.

In some cases, if the health issue is severe, a vet will suggest putting an animal to sleep as the kindest course of treatment rather than make the animal suffer. However, in some cases, euthanization isn’t necessarily the best option.

Sometimes, it just takes a little bit of willpower and a whole lot of love and patience to see an animal through the worst of its medical issues.

Such was the case for Tiny Tina and Oopsie Daisy. The two kittens were so small when they were rescued and they were found to be living with a rare neurological condition called Cerebellar hypoplasia.

The person who found them brought them to the vet. The vet initially told their rescuer that they would be better off euthanizing the small kittens as they were “painful to look at and would have no quality of life.”

However, the kittens’ rescuer had other plans. They knew that Cerebellar hypoplasia doesn’t necessarily have to be a death sentence, so they decided to bring the kittens home and help them adjust to life with their condition.

They helped the kittens to grow stronger through playtime. Even the kittens, themselves, learned to rely on one another for support. Eventually, through lots of time, love, and dedicated care, Tiny Tina and Oopsie Daisy grew up – and now that they’re one and a half years old, they are living their best lives. And that is so inspiring!
