If you own a dog, you probably realize how important it is to keep them regularly groomed.

Regular grooming is important for a dog’s overall well-being, as it helps prevent skin problems from matting, infections, and other issues.

While some dog owners take on the task of grooming at home with some dog clippers and nail trimmers, professional dog groomers can provide specialized services for various dogs, breeds, and sizes. Taking your dog to the groomer is nice because it’s hassle-free and we like to think our pups are being left in good hands.

However, some people are nervous to part with their pups and leave them in the hands of strangers. While most groomers are probably well-intentioned professionals, others are negligent at best.

One person with first-hand experience of this is a woman named Amanda Haynes (@amandahayxo).

She recently shared on TikTok that she dropped her poodle mix, Biscuit, off at the groomers for a haircut but when she went to pick him up, he was hardly recognizable in both looks and attitude.

Amanda said she tried to tell the groomers that it wasn’t her dog, but they insisted it was Biscuit and there was no other dog it could be. After spending around 20 minutes trying to tell the groomers it wasn’t her dog, they did a check of the rooms for another dog that matched Biscuit’s description and reassured her that the dog she was holding was, indeed, her pooch.

After taking the dog out to car, Amanda said she really knew something was wrong but the groomers were so sure it was Biscuit that started to feel like she was going crazy. However, they eventually called her to say that Biscuit was at the groomer and the dog she’d left with wasn’t hers after all!

Apparently, Biscuit had been in the back the whole time and the staff hadn’t checked for him like they’d pretended to do. On top of that, they hadn’t even groomed him yet!

Amanda wrote in the video’s description: “…I feel so bad for the random dog that was scared. [The groomer] offered a refund & i get next groom free & she felt horrible but in conclusion I’ve never been so thrilled to see biscuit ever & i’m so sorry to the random dog who was lowkey dognapped for a few min LOL & if this was ur dog i promise he was in good hands & they rly did look similar.”

In a series of follow-up videos, Amanda said she’ll probably never take her dog back to the groomer and might start grooming him at home instead.

She added that it’s the “worst thing” that’s ever happened to her but the groomers gaslit her and made her feel like she was wrong and crazy for saying the dog wasn’t Biscuit – even though it really wasn’t!

In the end, we’re just glad that Biscuit is safe and sound at home now and both he and Amanda can rest easy.
