A little rescue goat learned to not only walk but run after being diagnosed with a neurological problem at birth.
The baby goat, Pisa, was born with the problem that caused her to be weak on her legs, but thankfully, a farm sanctuary heard about her plight and offered to take her in.
In an interview with The Dodo, Susan with the Little Buckets Farm Sanctuary said, “She can’t stand on her own, but our rescue dog, Colton, lets her lean on her.”
Pisa and Colton formed a strong bond as the little goat struggled with her inability to stand and walk.
Susan added that Pisa wants to learn to walk, but she’s a bit impatient. Susan explained, “[Pisa] didn’t want to try to learn to walk slow, one step at a time. She just wanted to go, fly!”
The team at the sanctuary continued to work with Pisa to get her legs walkable, but in the end, they realized she’d need a cart to really be mobile. Thankfully, they were able to set her up with a set of wheels and Pisa took right to them!
“All of a sudden, she would just dart, and go, like, 90 miles an hour,” Susan said.
Before long, Pisa was running alongside her farm BFF, Colton. Pisa even found a competitive side and ended up racing Colton around! She didn’t let her wheels slow her down.
