When Mary took her Australian Shepherd, Promise, to the University of Washington, she wanted her dog to see the cherry blossoms for the very first time – and it turned into an adorable spring-themed photoshoot!
Mary shared a video of the photoshoot on TikTok and it was a big hit.
In the caption, she wrote: “It’s cherry blossom season again! The best time of year to be at UW. It’s not the easiest time of year for me with all the memories it brings, but I’m doing my best for Promise. This is her very first time seeing the blossoms, and we of course had to take pictures to remember it.”
She went on to say, “My little sister Izzy took these videos of us while during our photoshoot, and it was really interesting for me to watch them and see what it looks like from the outside. Taking pictures, [my former dog] Secret and I were always so completely focused on each other, (and now same with Promise) that I never noticed when people were looking on watching and smiling.”
The photos really turned out special!

Mary lives in Bellingham, Washington, and previously had a close bond with her Australian Shepherd, Secret. The sweet pup became an internet sensation for learning how to Irish dance and accompanying Mary with daily household tasks, like doing laundry and planting potatoes, and even learned how to paint!
The bond they formed was really something special, but sadly, Secret passed away on May 13, 2022, after losing a battle with cancer.
The family was devastated, but in November 2022, Mary announced on Instagram that she’d welcomed home another Aussie puppy: Promise.
She hoped to train Promise in a similar way to Secret and make her former pup proud.
Based on her social media posts, I think it’s safe to say that Promise is really thriving under Mary’s care.
Not only does she know how to pose for some amazing photos, but she also learned how hide Easter eggs and is on track to doing the laundry!
