Dogs only know one way to love and that is unconditionally. They also would never leave their family – if it was up to them. Sadly, many dogs are abandoned by their families due to no fault of their own.
A sweet Australian shepherd named Cubby was surrendered to Noah Project, a no-kill animal shelter in Michigan, when his family could no longer care for him. His heartbreaking reaction was captured on video and shared on the shelter’s TikTok page.
Cubby never took his eyes off the door and patiently waited for his family to come back and get him, but they never did. The shelter wrote, “Some day Cubby will have a happy ending to this story.”

One viewer wrote, “It literally is like a gut punch 💔”. Another said, “Please someone adopt this dog….I have 3 Aussies and they are the most loyal and loving dogs.”
Cubby is the perfect gentleman. He would love to find a home with another dog and a yard full of sticks to play with. The friendly pup loves to go for car rides, play with squeaky toys, and knows several commands. According to his profile, “I’m super smart and know how to sit, stay, leave it, wave, shake, high five, crate, place my toys, and lay down. I’m a really good swimmer and love beaches too!”
All he needs now is a loving family who promises to never abandon him. If he sounds like the perfect dog for you, learn how to adopt him here.
Noah Project, founded in 2000, has helped over 8,000 homeless pets find loving homes. All pets are microchipped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and showered with love.
