Australia is notorious for being the home to all sorts of interesting creatures. From glowing marsupials to dinner-plate-sized spiders, it’s enough to get you either really excited or keep you far from the place.
Recently though, one student experienced a moment that’ll make you glad you don’t live in Australia (or terrified if you do?).
Imogen Moore walked into her kitchen like any other day, but what she stumbled upon was far from ordinary. It was a scene straight from a nightmare. A giant mother huntsman spider and hundreds of baby huntsman spiders swarmed across her oven.
Moore took to Facebook and shared photos of the horrifying moment in a group dedicated to “Australia Native Animals”.
Hundreds of people commented on her post, with many experiencing second-hand terror.

“It’s a no from me,” Dayna Jo wrote.
“New oven and new house lol,” Sarah Moffatt said.
“Stuff made of nightmares!” Sarah-Jane Walkington commented.
Some people asked what she did with the spiders. After all, removing that many huntsman would be no easy feat.
She replied that she left them there! She said, “house owner wasn’t keen on killing them so we turned the light off and just left them there.”
I imagine they won’t be baking or cooking for quite some time.
Despite their large size and menacing appearance, huntsman spiders are actually quite docile creatures. According to Science ABC, huntsman are not considered dangerous to humans nor are they aggressive. If found indoors, they can be gently scooped into a cup or container and released outside.
What would you think if you found that many spiders on your oven? Let us know!
