Mange is an extremely painful skin condition caused by mites and can cause serious damage to a dog’s skin and health. It is highly contagious and fast growing, so immediate veterinary treatment is necessary.
Sadly, countless homeless dogs suffer with this disease, like Mosi.
The sweet boy was spotted at a business center in Tanzania searching for food. He stayed in the area after several kind people offered him something to eat.
They noticed he was missing fur and had sores on his back, so one person reached out to Tanzania Animal Welfare Society to see if they could help.
The rescue arrived and took the friendly pup, who was clearly in pain, to the vet. He was suffering from fungal and bacterial infections from mange.
The rescue reached out to Greater Good Charities’ Emergency Animal Medical fund for help to cover Mosi’s medical expenses. Emergency Animal Medical fund was started to provide grants to animal shelters and rescues to cover the costs of medical care to save lives of homeless pets.
It will take months for Mosi’s skin to heal and he will need intensive treatment with antibiotics, antihistamines, vitamins, and acaricide washes until he recovers.
Mosi continues to wag his tail through the pain and loves everyone he meets.
You can help sweet Mosi begin the journey to recovery. Your support will not only give Mosi the hope to keep fighting, but your donations will help cover the ongoing care he will need.
Help us meet our goal of $2,200 to help care for Mosi.
Together we CAN change the world!
