Sonic Drive-In is known for its throwback image of 1950’s-style service, complete with carhops delivering your food straight to your car. Despite their nostalgic theme, now they’ve opened an online store known as the Wag Shop where fans of the restaurant chain can purchase merch for their pups. The new Wag Shop line focuses on the bonding pet owners forge on drives with their pets where Fluffy gets to come along for the ride, head hanging out the window as the miles tick by.
Go for a ride?!
Predominantly known for their delicious shakes, slushie cherry limeades, and hot dogs, they’ve decided to get into the merch game as well. While they do carry a few items for dogs’ humans, like their “Dog person” hats and bandanas that are technically for dogs, its main focus is on a cache of canine goodies. Their chew toys come in the form of corndogs, tots (as in “tater”), and the aforementioned cherry limeades. There’s even a combo meal of toys you can purchase featuring the corndog, limeade, and tots in cute packaging resembling the little cardboard containers your tots come in.
Doggy Toys and Cool Stuff
One of the coolest items in the Sonic Wag Shop collection hands down is the limited edition Drive-In Doghouse for your pooch to park itself under, which resembles the chain’s familiar parking and dining area. Besides the drive-in doghouse and fun toys, though, the coolest rollout comes in the form of doggy costumes, just in time for Halloween. Now you can dress your pup up as a Sonic hotdog, complete with a Sonic wrapper, or a cherry limeade costume that features a cherry hat to officially top off the adorable look.
Halloween Costumes for Dogs
In addition to bringing a smile to your face and a wag to your dog’s tail, with every Wag Shop purchase, you’ll feel good knowing that 100% of the proceeds are donated to the Sonic Foundation. It’s a 501c3 non-profit program that Sonic has been developing in recent years that sees valuable supplies and learning resources directed to public schools in the U.S. The Foundation plans to work closely with franchisees and operators to host restaurant fundraisers where guests can donate to the SONIC Foundation to support their local community.
If you still haven’t picked up any Halloween costumes for your pets, check out the Animal Rescue Site Store for some great choices that include two different hot dog costumes, spooky spiders, and super heroes. The best part? Each purchase feeds 35 shelter pets!
