Major, a rescue German shepherd, is about to make history as the first-ever shelter dog in the White House. And what better way to celebrate than with an “indoguration” party.
President-elect Joe Biden adopted the handsome boy in 2018 from Delaware Humane Association (DHA) as a companion for the couple’s other German shepherd, Champ. The two are now inseparable.
The shelter is thrilled for First Dog Major and plans on hosting an “indoguration” party with Pumpkin Petcare Insurance to celebrate. Today Show’s Jill Martin will host the Zoom event that will take place on January 17 at 3pm EST.
The shelter posted the exciting news on social media, “Let’s celebrate the first-ever shelter pup to become First Dog and raise $$$ to help more shelter animals like Major live the American Dream!”
All donations from the event will go directly to DHA to care for shelter pets and help them find forever homes. The event is expected to be the “world’s largest virtual party for dogs.”
Everyone (two and four-legged) is invited to join and all you need to do is donate a minimum of $10 to DHA and RSVP here.
People are looking forward to the party and one of the shelter’s fans wrote, “This is incredible! Can. Not. Wait.”
Another said, “This is a very pawsitive cause.”
If you are looking to add to your family, please adopt don’t shop. Check out some of the available dogs at DHA in the post below.
