Piper is a dog like many others that went to the animal shelter. That shelter, Partners for Pets, was more than happy to receive Piper but unfortunately, Piper was not very happy about being there.
It didn’t take long for the shelter staff to identify how frightened she was and when there was anyone in the room, she would scurry to an area as far away as possible.
This made adoption difficult and they knew they needed some specialized help.
That is when they looked for someone who could assist Piper in getting used to humans and ready for a forever home. That person was Angela.
Angela had come to take Piper and saw that Piper had squished herself as close as she could to the floor.
Piper had to be dragged out of the building, for lack of a better term and they couldn’t even lift her out of her kennel.
Although Angela did her part to reassure Piper, Piper was not very happy about the situation.
Something quite different happened, however, when Piper went to her foster home. Suddenly, she was no longer this shy, frightened animal but rather, she was a dog that was quickly warming up to those around her.
It took about a month for the trust to be fully built up but with the help of Angela and their dogs, Piper is now ready for a forever home.
