Soon after Paws4ever rescued Pria from a crowded county shelter, we found out that she had stage 3/4 kidney disease, a chronic upper respiratory infection, and arthritis. Paws4ever took her to the vet regularly for bloodwork, exams, and medication to help her feel better. We monitored her symptoms closely, and our dedicated volunteers showered sweet Pria with affection while we searched for the unique adopter we knew she would need.

An animal lover who follows Paws4ever on social media recently lost her own cat to medical issues. Earlier this summer, she saw Pria’s picture on Facebook and immediately loved her, but her loss was too fresh – she wasn’t ready to adopt. But as the weeks went by, Pria’s pictures showed up again and again, and she grew sure that Pria was the cat for her.

When she was ready to open her heart to a new cat, she made an appointment to meet Pria. She masked up and came to the Adoption Center and spent over an hour falling completely in love. However, adopting a cat with such serious medical needs is a large undertaking. Pria will need ongoing medication and regular vet visits.

Thankfully, she has a whole community of people who love her and want to support her transition to a forever home. Several Paws4ever volunteers, who care deeply for Pria, contributed to a fund that will allow Paws4ever to continue supporting some of her medical costs, even after adoption.

On August 24th, the big day arrived. Pria’s family was so excited to bring her home! Her humans love her dearly, and she has a golden retriever as a best friend! She immediately made herself right at home, and she will continue to receive the care and support of the Paws4ever community.
