Many senior living facilities plan a lot of fun activities for their residents in order to keep them occupied and make sure they’re having a good time there.

Activities like Bingo, cards, checkers, chess, and watching movies are just a few favorites.

But one living center took things up a notch and planned a very special week for their seniors that’s unlike any other.

Independence Village in Plymouth, Michigan, decided to celebrate ‘Cruise Week’ at their facility.

Cruise Week began with a “cruise” to Puerto Rico, where they got to meet different wildlife animals such as an owl, snake, kangaroo, beaver, and alligator. They even got to hold the beaver for pictures and feed him graham crackers!

Another day included a Sock Hop themed Happy Hour with a Motown performer, bourbon in the Brig, and volleyball on the deck with balloons.

They closed out Cruise Week with a day filled with music, bubbles, and ‘dolphin rides.’

No, of course they didn’t get real dolphins, but the inflatable dolphins they got were just as fun!

The seniors enjoyed being pulled down the hallways while lying on inflatable dolphin tubes. They waved to onlookers and cheered as bubbles filled the hallways around them, making the experience even more realistic and fun.

They were donning smiles from ear to ear and having the time of their lives.

The senior center did a great job making this week as close to a real cruise as possible for them.
