Frosted Faces Foundation (FFF) is a senior dog rescue based in Ramona, California. The founders, Kelly and Andy, are dedicated to saving older dogs from high-kill shelters and finding them a loving home to spend their golden years.
With the help of foster families, volunteers, and adopters, the rescue has given countless older dogs the life they deserve before they peacefully cross the Rainbow Bridge.
Their facility is home to gray-faced dogs who are patiently waiting for a family to love. The goal was to find them all a home for the holidays, but when that didn’t happen, they made sure to spoil those still at their shelter.
“We had such a nice Christmas at FFF today. While it’s sad to think that none of these dogs get to spend the holidays with a family, we made the day as special as possible,” wrote FFF on Facebook.
The larger dogs (called Bigs) were taken on walks and given tasty bones to chew. According to FFF, “Redbarn Premium Pet Products donated stockings to the Bigs with 12 bones that were the real deal. They’ve been getting a bone everyday and today they got the best one!”
The smaller senior dogs snuggled with staff and volunteers in the shelter lobby while they watched Christmas movies. “The Littles got to enjoy movie day in the lobby with volunteers. We watched Home Alone, Elf, and The Santa Claus while Andy cooked snacks. We had nearly 20 volunteers show up today to help us clean kennels, feed meals, take the dogs on multiple walks, and snuggle up to the movies.”
It is clear from the photos posted on Facebook that the people and dogs had a blast spending the holiday together. Of course, the dogs headed to the kitchen when snacks were being prepared and cuddled on a soft rug waiting for crumbs to drop.
There is still time to foster or adopt a “Frosted Face” pal to ring in 2024. Check out all the adoptable seniors here.
