Dozer the rottweiler was in for quite a ride when his owner, Kimberly, decided to bring home a new puppy.

Kimberly introduced Dozer to the tiny new puppy, Daisy, but it didn’t quite go as expected.

Despite his large size, Dozer seemed afraid of Daisy.

Speaking with The Dodo, Kimberly explained, “The first couple of days, he was kind of scared of her.”

Daisy was all energy and she just wanted to play, play, play, and go, go, go. Dozer, on the other hand, wanted to lay, sleep, and relax. He wasn’t sure what to do with Daisy or how to interact with her, but one day it seemed to come together.

Dozer finally realized he could play with Daisy and the two had fun chasing each other around the house. Dozer was naturally gentle with Daisy, who was several times smaller than him.

“She brought out the puppy inside him that he didn’t know that he could be,” Kimberly said.

Still, even with Dozer’s acceptance of the puppy and willingness to play, he couldn’t keep up with the tiny ball of energy that was Daisy. She wanted to play a lot more than he did, so Kimberly had another idea: She would get another small dog to keep Daisy company!

Thus, Mocha entered the family.

Daisy and Mocha instantly his things off. They play for hours every day, chasing each other around and roughhousing with toys. They’re the perfect fit for one another.

While Dozer doesn’t always get in on the non-stop play, it’s clear he loves his little canine siblings in his own way.
