Our hearts always go out to dogs that have suffered some type of difficulty. It is especially true when it happens to a little puppy who is not able to care for themselves.

Recently, a little pit bull puppy was found abandoned in the gutter along the side of the road.

At only nine months old, “Tig” was in sorry shape. He was suffering from hypothermia and was emaciated because nobody wanted to care for him. When they found Tig, they didn’t know if he would survive the night.

According to The Dodo, Thomas Ingle, one of the humane law enforcement officers that work along with the rescue crew, said: “Had we waited any longer, I don’t think he would have made it.”

Fortunately, they didn’t wait and they sprung into action immediately. Tig was placed with an experienced caregiver, Kim O’Keefe, and she gave him the TLC he needed. Although he was very weak, he began to gain strength after just a few days

Tig continued to gain strength and he was carefully looked after for 11 weeks. Within the first week, he was able to sit on his own and he gained back a lot of his weight and mobility over the following weeks.

These days, Tig is living a good life in a forever home with his human mom, Megan. She describes the life that he has now, saying: “he spends his days going on walks, playing, and snuggling with his new canine brother and sister.”
