Rescue pit bull named Mo is a voice for pitties and refuses to be silenced.
His rise to fame started a few years ago when he was rescued from the streets of Phoenix, Arizona. His mom, Kristin Allen, spotted him wandering the streets and stopped to help. Little did she know that her act of kindness would change her life forever.
Allen offered the pup some water, since it was a very hot day, and the friendly boy happily drank water and willingly hopped into her car. She took the pit bull home and cuddled with him all night, but the next morning brought him to animal control to see if his owners were looking for him.
But not before naming the lost boy Mo, short for Mowgli from The Jungle Book.
She was already in love with Mo and visited him each day of his three day hold. When no one came forward, Allen jumped at the opportunity to make him hers.
During one of her visits at the shelter, she discovered Mo had a hidden talent – screaming. “He looked across the room through a glass window they had, he saw a dog on the other side, and that’s when he screamed for the first time,” Allen told Fox10.

While some dogs bark or howl to communicate, Mo likes to scream. At first, Allen talked to trainers about ways to make him stop, but then decided to embrace it. “I try the best I can to control it, to the extent that I can, but it has come down to — we’ve talked to many trainers, and it’s really not something that I have been able to correct or get him to quit. Quite frankly, I don’t know that we want him to quit because it is — it’s who he is.”
Videos of Mo screaming quickly went viral earning him over 100,000 followers on Instagram. He’s now known as Mo The Screaming Staffy.
Mo screams the most when he’s in the car, but he’s raising his voice for a good cause as well.
Allen is sharing Mo with the world in hopes of changing the way people view pit bulls. Mo is a social media influencer who speaks up for pitties and encourages people to adopt.
“I’ve had people either laugh hysterically, be extremely started and then, maybe laugh a little bit, and some people that are just bewildered.”
