If you happen to have a dog in your life, you already have no doubt that they are capable of doing some amazing things. This is true of any dog but sometimes, we find a dog that takes things to the next level.
That is sure to be how you feel about Gracie, a rescue dog who is doing some amazing things.
Although she has problems of her own, she doesn’t let them stop her from helping other dogs and living life to the full.
Gracie was rescued by Tracy’s Paws Rescue, after being discovered with a hurt paw. Dr. Dave, a veterinarian with Vet Ranch, wanted to help Gracie but in return, he found that she was willing to help others.
When they first took Gracie to the veterinarian, her paw was badly injured. They were not quite sure what had happened, but after taking blood and putting her through a lot of different tests, they determined that she was generally healthy but her paw might need to be amputated.
The x-ray showed that the metacarpal bones as well as the carpal bones seemed to have been injured at some time in the past. They were likely broken and then had fused together in an unusual manner. It was not good news because the surgeon felt that it was not possible to save her leg.
As a result, Gracie lost her leg but that didn’t mean that she lost what she had inside of her. She still had all of the youthful energy that she had at first and now, she was able to run, even though she was running on three legs.
Gracie may have come in as a dog in bad shape but she left as a dog ready and willing to be a part of a family. They were then just waiting for her to be adopted, and any family that ended up with Gracie was going to be a happy family.
