R&B singer Jaheim was arrested and charged with 3rd-degree animal cruelty after 15 dogs were found at his New Jersey residence “in varying stages of emaciation.” One of the dogs was so neglected that it had to be euthanized.

The Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office shared a press release explaining that the Hillsborough Township Police Department responded to Jaheim’s neighborhood for a call regarding a “puppy in distress.”

After surveying the area, police discovered six dogs in crates in the driveway of Jaheim’s house. All six dogs were without food and were being kept in crates filled with feces and several inches of water. One of the dogs was unresponsive.
