While Luna’s owner was away at work, the clever pup managed to create what appeared to be a break-in and caused the cops to be called.

The 95-pound pup can open the house doors by standing on her hind legs and pushing the handle down. When she’s let out for a potty break, she often just lets herself right back in!

However, she’s not very good about shutting the door behind her.

One day, Luna let herself out to potty and she let herself back in the house on her own by opening the back door. No one thought to check the back door to make sure it was locked, so it remained wide open while Luna’s owner was at work as an ER nurse in Saint Marys, Ohio.

After a few hours, a neighbor noticed that the back door was wide open, and happened to know that the home’s owner was at work at the hospital. Assuming the worse, the neighbor called the cops and explained how there was a possible break-in.

As captured on Ring security footage, you can see the cops arrive at the house and stand in front of the open door.

Luna’s owner shared with ViralHog that they announced their presence and asked if anyone was inside the house. They continued to get no reply, other than Luna barking at them.

They eventually entered the house and began to search it, but only managed to find the dog. It was around that time that Luna’s owner got a notice on her phone that someone was in her backyard. Finding that strange, she pulled up her Ring camera and saw the officer on her back step, with the door wide open!

She said, “My phone then rings, and it’s the dispatcher from the PD telling me what’s going on. I tell her, ‘I bet my daughter didn’t lock the back door, and Luna had let herself out or something.’ And she laughs and says, ‘really?’ I said, ‘yeah, she does it all the time.’”

Everyone got a kick out of the situation, and it was a lesson learned for Luna’s owner!
