Dogs have different personalities, much like humans. While some dogs prefer to play catch and run for miles, others would rather sit on their owner’s lap and be pet all day.

Just like parents who have multiple children, dog owners who have multiple breeds know just how unique their pets can be. Sometimes, their differences mean that different approaches to life and activities are necessary to make both animals happy.

Take a Dalmatian and a golden retriever, for example.

They share many similarities, like both being similar in size and used by noblemen, but they have extremely different preferences and personalities.

In a video shared by BVRIAL, you can see “Dad” in the water waiting for his dogs, and his golden retriever jumps right in and swims to him.

The dog seems quite happy, and the man had to actually pick the pup up and lift him out of the pool to get him to stop swimming.

However, when it was the Dalmation’s turn, things didn’t go quite so easily. The poor dog had to be carried into the water, and he pulled his paws up to keep them from getting wet.

Eventually, the dog was forced into the water and frantically splashed around, clearly miserable with the activity.

Given their different backgrounds, it should come as no surprise that they have such different tastes in water. Dalmations were bred to guard coaches and horses, and are natural trotters. Golden retrievers, on the other hand, were bred to retrieve waterfowl, so they have an inclination to the water.
