Beyond risking snake bites and oncoming traffic, pet owners also “pulled off daring rescues from towering construction sites and dove into pools, all to save their dogs.”
The survey of 2,000 pet owners further revealed that 78% believe their dog to be a “full-fledged” member of the family and 65% think that spoiling their pups is a form of self-care.
Some people have such deep connections to their pets, they sometimes prefer them to humans! In fact, over half (61%) revealed that they would rather be with their dog than some people they know. 47% admitted that they’ve even stayed home and canceled plans to be with their pets.
It seems a lot of pet owners even prioritize their dogs over their own well-being. 63% of pet owners shared that they’re more on top of scheduling their dog’s vet appointments than their owner doctor appointments. And nearly half (46%) said they cook their dog special meals with “human” food.
