Ukrainian dogs and cats are starving and in desperate need of food. Greater Good is on the ground providing urgent relief for people and pets. We are helping feed pets by working with United Pet Food Poland who is producing pet food for us at $.10 per meal to be distributed to Ukrainian refugee pets and animal shelters.
They are one of the largest European dry pet food manufacturers and the manager, Robert Mrozimski, said, “it’s the least they can do” to help feed Ukrainian pets.
Over 11 million Ukrainians have fled their homes and are arriving in Poland and other bordering countries with their pets in their arms and just the clothes on their backs.
Thanks to your generous donations and the help of our partner, U-hearts, the first truckload carrying nearly 100 tons of cat and dog food has been distributed.
But there are still so many hungry mouths to feed.
In addition to the thousands of refugee pets, countless dogs and cats are still in the war-torn country. Shelters and rescues in Ukraine are in dire need of pet food and supplies. Hundreds of starving dogs and cats were recently discovered after Russian forces left the city of Borodyakna.
Ukrainians bring their furry family members along no matter what as they’re forced to flee their homes and escape from russian aggression. Greater Good Charities will continue to work with U-Hearts to distribute 70-100 tons of pet food from United Pet Food on a weekly basis to refugee camps in bordering countries and to animal shelters in Ukraine. We are also providing Good Packs which are filled with essentials for people and their pets.
