Starting a business is a daunting task, even more so in the middle of a pandemic! But Doggurt founder Amanda Colanino has taken on that double challenge with her organic frozen treats.

She’s already helped over 30 strays find their forever homes while building a customer base that loves the product.

When the manager of a local grocery store saw how fast Colanino was selling out from her food truck, she offered to give her a space to stock some product on the store’s shelves. From there, she has spread into other franchises and even other parts of the US.

Her future plans? “Spread the DogGurt love to Colorado and maybe more of the Midwest,” as she told local news affiliate 3 News Now. She’s already got a presence lined up in Colorado as well as Minnesota.
Still, even as the business has grown, Colanino stays true to the passion that sparked it. “When I thought about DogGurt on paper,” she added to the outlet, “my dream… was to do the lost kids milk carton thing. I would like to adopt a rescue a month, and put adoptable dogs on my label and keep them on the label until they find their home.”

Hopefully, Colanino’s DogGurt dreams come true — not just for her, but the shelter dogs that will benefit.
