My Dog Is My Home is holding their second annual Virtual Co-Sheltering Conference from March 1 to March 3, 2022. This year’s theme is “Stronger Together: Building Allyship Between Movements,” which will focus on how co-sheltering people experiencing homelessness and their companion animals together fits into achieving a more just society. Maddie’s Fund® is a proud sponsor of this conference.
The conference will offer a variety of speakers, from government leaders to experts across human services and animal welfare. Topics include supporting the human-animal bond and lifting up leaders from affected communities to advocating for low-barrier animal policies in shelter and housing. Read more about this thought-provoking conference.
And not to be missed is the webcast, Co-Sheltering Programs – Keeping Families and Pets Together on March 9, 2022 at 12:00 PM PT / 3:00 PM ET.
Co-sheltering, or the practice of housing humans and animals together at the same emergency or temporary facility, is essential to keeping families together and reducing service barriers for people experiencing homelessness. Register now for the webcast and then join us on Maddie’s® Pet Forum to continue the discussion and exchange ideas.
Please note that the webcast has been pre-approved for 1.0 Certified Animal Welfare Administrator continuing education credits by The Association for Animal Welfare Advancement and by the National Animal Care & Control Association.
