Can you imagine a child without his favorite stuffed toy, especially around Christmas?
Staff at the Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport (MKE) were concerned when they found a doggie stuffed toy on their premises last Christmas season. Obviously, a kid had left the toy behind unaware. They could just imagine how lonely the owner must be, especially as it was the holiday season.
Their efforts to find the stuffed animal’s owner nearly ended in vain. But something caught their eye that told them where the owner of the stuffed toy must be living.
“We did, however, spot a possible clue – it was found wearing a TSA sticker from Colorado!” the airport said on its Facebook page.
And so MKE happily sent the stuffed toy to the airport in Colorado so it could continue its adventurous quest. Officials at the Denver airport were glad to welcome it and help the stuffed toy return home.
Luckily, the owner’s family saw the airport’s social media post!
“STOP this is my youngest son Archie’s elf pet!!! We traveled from DIA ➡️MKE on December 18th to visit family for Christmas!” Bobbijean Carey, the owner’s mother, responded on the Facebook post.
Carey further shared on FB, “We showed Archie this morning, and he can’t stop looking at daddy’s phone, asking when he gets his ‘elf puppy’ back!”
So the airport quickly arranged a reunion between the owner and the adventurous stuffed toy, now known as Elf Puppy.
Just imagine how much happiness Archie must have felt when he had the chance to hug his favorite stuffed toy once again. The moment was priceless, not only for the Carey family, but also to those in MKE and the Denver airports and all those paying attention to the story on social media.
Hurrah for Archie and Elf Puppy!
