I grew up by the beach and surfing is a big hobby for people in my town. The water is freezing and it’s not sunny often, but people get out there and make the most of it.
It’s exhilarating and fun, and once your surfboard and wetsuit are paid for, it’s a relatively cheap or even free activity.
As it turns out, it’s not just humans who might enjoy a day in the waves. Dogs can enjoy it as well!
Ricochet the Golden Retriever was a prime example of a dog who loves to surf. Sadly, he passed away at 15.
Ricochet wasn’t the only dog who can surf though. The Kritter Klub shared a video that features a surfing French Bulldog and he’s too cute!
The dog hits the waves alongside his owner and seems to be having a blast doing so.
It’s not everyday you see a surfing pup, so I’m sure they draw a lot of attention.
The black and white pooch stands on the front of the surfboard while his owner paddles into a wave. Then, they ride the wave together back toward shore.
While some dogs would be terrified of the water, other dogs love the water and can’t get enough. This pup seems to be one who thrives in it. It’s like a bonding activity for him and his owner, and there’s something to be said for that.
You can see them in action in the Kritter Klub video below:
