There are a lot of viral trends, particularly on TikTok. These videos vary from the funny, to the bizarre, to the wholesomely adorable.
One of those trends was the popular trend of showing off a “mom” and a “dad,” and then finally revealing their offspring. While the trend in itself is cute, when you swap out humans for animals, it becomes a million times more precious.
That is exactly what Andrew Lewis ended up doing. He didn’t think much of it when he decided to join the trend and create his video, but it proved to be widely well-received. People fell in love with the story of how his pup’s parents supposedly “fell in love.”
Of course, such an adorable video immediately took off in popularity. But it’s actually a bit fictitious.

The dog at the center of it all is Andrew’s beloved pooch, Oakley. Oakley is a long-haired Dalmatian, which has caused a lot of people to question Andrew whether or not Oakley, as well as his sister, Nellie, are a cross between a normal-haired Dalmatian and a golden retriever.

Keeping this in mind when he created the video, he took a little creative license in telling the truth.
As it turns out, long-haired Dalmatians are naturally a thing, and Andrew explained to Bored Panda that both his dogs are fully bred long-haired Dalmations. He even gave some background on how he got his pups in the first place.
Sharing the story of how he got Oakley, Andrew said to Bored Panda, “So I found a lady online trying to get rid of their puppy, which was around 4 months old. When I got there, I noticed he wasn’t fed too well and he was terrified of everything. I don’t know for sure, but I assume he had a not-so-pleasant time before I got him. I picked him up in East Tennessee and named him Oakley! He took a while to adjust and be normal, but he is the absolute happiest dog I’ve ever met.”
After this, he decided to get Oakley a little companion, and that is how Nellie came to be a part of the family.
While it’s not what is shown in the TikTok video, the viral clip is still such a fun watch.
