It doesn’t matter what part of the world we live in, there are going to be problems specific to our area.

If you happen to live in Canada, one of those issues is the possibility of an avalanche. They don’t affect every Canadian, but they sometimes affect animals.

According to a report by CBC, a man named Jesse Dahlberg was watching as avalanches were being triggered by railroad crews. They were using explosives to start those massive movements of snow in a small town in British Columbia, Field.

Although he was “hoping for the best,” he also knew that the wall of snow would likely take the elk’s life.

After watching the snow hit the elk, he ran to the area and was able to find a trail. He then saw nostrils and an eye peeking out from under the snow.

Suddenly, he realized the elk was alive, so he started digging with his hands while his friend ran for a shovel. It took some time but he was able to free the animal.

He said he was so happy that he started cheering with his arms in the air. It’s amazing that he was able to rescue this animal from certain death. This is just the kind of good news we needed today.
