Luna, a female Staffordshire mix, was brought to the Jackson County Animal Shelter with a litter of puppies, MLive reports.
All her puppies have been adopted out, but Luna still needs a home.
“We have a THIEF in our midst!” the Jackson County Animal Shelter – Michigan posted to Facebook. “Luna STOLE all of our hearts! You just have to meet her to appreciate how special she is! ❤️🐶❤️ Loving, happy, beautiful, barely one year old, itty bitty pitty.”
Luna is well-trained and walks only on a leash, MLive reports. She is very friendly around humans and other dogs. She just needs some human companionship in her life.
“Oh my gosh! She is beautiful!” commented Paula Leonard.
“I love her. I so so wish I could adopt her,” wrote Amanda Kish.
“Such a cutie… that sweet innocent face,” commented Lacy Walker-Williams.
Anyone interested in adopting these pets must first visit them in-person at the shelter, which can provide more information on adoption fees vaccinations, microchip and sterilization.
If you’ve fallen in love with Luna like we have, but are unable to adopt her, don’t worry. There are always ways people can help animal shelters care for pets like this.
“Shelters will put your occupational expertise to great use,” Inga Fricke, director of pet retention programs for the Humane Society of the United States, told Huffington Post.
Carpenters can help build outdoor shelters or agility equipment, photographers can catalog rescue residents and show them off to potential parents in marketing materials, lawyers can make sure adoption contracts are clear and fair.
Do you have a special skill that could come in handy? Help out and maybe you could meet another special pet like Luna.
