Life can be difficult when you are lost, but when you are a cat lost on a mountain in Switzerland, it is impossibly difficult.

Unfortunately, that is what happened to a cat who got lost on Mt. Britsen in Switzerland. It was difficult, but it ended well when she was reunited with her owners, thanks to some kind hikers.

Cyril and Erik Rohrer went to Mount Britsen in Switzerland for the trip of a lifetime. They were climbing the mountain, but before they reached the summit at 10,000 feet, they were joined by a lost feline.

The cat had wandered off and gotten lost on the mountain slopes. Not knowing what to do, the feline decided she would follow some hikers to the peak rather than trying to find her way back home.

The Rohrers decided they would keep the cat with them and watch out for her well-being. Eventually, they gave the cat to some other hikers that took the feline back down the mountain and reunited her with her owners.

Cyril Rohrer, who hails from Sachseln, Switzerland said how they were at about 12,000 m at 4:30 in the morning when they heard a cat. Understandably, the cat sounded confused and frightened but continued to follow them as they were walking uphill. The feline just wouldn’t go back home.

She said: “She started to shiver, and her paws began to bleed from the hard snow. Sometimes we picked her up and carried her when she was too exhausted to walk uphill anymore.” They felt sorry for the cat because she was exhausted.

It turns out that the cat was missing for 4 days before she met up with the Rohrers. In fact, it followed some other hikers up the mountain before she ran into them.

In the end, Cyril said that “animals do weird things.”

Then again, perhaps the cat knew exactly what she was doing.
