A golden retriever named Hadley has been a bit lonely since her human sisters went off to college, so her parents decided to surprise her with a new playmate for Christmas.
But instead of waiting until Christmas morning, the family gave Hadley her present a month early.
Maddy, one of Hadley’s human sisters, posted the touching video on TikTok and it has gone viral.
At first, the box under the tree containing the puppy looked like any old box and was of no interest to Hadley – until she saw what was inside.
The overjoyed pup came over wagging her tail and started to sniff her new sister. As soon as the puppy was lifted out of the box and placed on the rug, the real fun began.
Hadley went down into a playful pose and tore around the room with excitement. It melted not only the hearts of her parents but of people around the world.
“Finally a friend!”

Like many dads, Maddy’s father was not in favor of getting a puppy, but Oakley quickly changed his mind. A video showed his transformation from “we are not getting a puppy” to playing on the floor and getting covered in puppy kisses.
