If you’ve ever tried to bathe a cat, you know it’s not always the easiest task to accomplish. There’s the stereotype that cats hate water for a reason, and they make sure that bathtime is no walk in the park.

Thankfully, cats are pretty good at bathing themselves, but they sometimes run into a sticky situation that requires a bit of extra help in the cleaning department.

Sometimes they might try to befriend a skunk, which almost always results in a bath being needed. But other times, they may just have a potty accident that leaves a bit of residue on their behinds. That’s what happened to poor Moose, Jennifer Garner’s beloved feline.

Garner shared in an Instagram video that Moose had “pooped his pants,” and was “befouled.” He desperately needed a bath, so Jennifer decided to tackle the task head-on and film it for all of social media to see.

She shared the video, saying, “Even big boys have accidents sometimes. It’s okay, Moose—you’re still the most handsome.”

She started the video by asking that we don’t make fun of Moose for his predicament (or for his “obesity problem”).

She proceeds to unclip his collar and put him in the sink to begin the bath. Like most cats, Moose isn’t a big fan of the water and protests the bath by wiggling around and attempting to jump out of the sink altogether.

Garner struggles to shampoo the cat and clean his rear while making things light-hearted with kids’ songs and commentary.

At one point, the hefty cat jumped from the sink and clung onto Garner, dripping shampoo and water all over. He was clinging on for dear life as Garner attempted to pry him off of her. She can be heard saying, “What would my mom do?”

Finally, Moose was dubbed clean enough to leave the bath and get dried off. Jennifer ended the video by saying that she’ll “never forget this as long as I live,” and noting that they didn’t get a chance to do conditioning.

Once uploaded to Instagram, the video began to take the Internet by storm. It was only a matter of time before Twitter user @isa_alcantara shared the video on Twitter and it went viral there:

Many Twitter users were obsessed with the video and couldn’t get enough. After all, it’s nice to see a celebrity dealing with an everyday cat-owner struggle.

Jennifer and Moose make for an iconic duo, and it’s not the first time they’ve grabbed attention on social media. Just last year, a photo went viral showing Garner walking with a stroller. Inside the stroller was none other than Moose himself.
