“I never thought a cow would be moving into my living room,” says Lee Asher, founder of The Asher House.
The team’s mission is to rescue animals and provide them with a sanctuary — a place they can all call home. Lee Asher began his journey in 2020 when he found the perfect property to accomplish his goal. Since then, he and his team have been rescuing and adopting animals who were rejected and had no place to go.
This time, Lee Asher rescued a calf and made space for him in his living room. He shared that he moved all the furniture to the sides and filled the room with hay like a makeshift barn. Asher named the calf Stubs — the baby cow was rejected by farmers because of his health condition that caused his legs not to work properly. Thankfully, Stubs was adopted by Lee Asher, and he got to live with other animals in the Asher House sanctuary.
Aside from Stubs, two more calves were rescued by Asher, which he named Bambi and Marty. Lee Asher treated the calves like a baby, and he even sang songs for them. With all the interactions with dogs in the sanctuary, Asher stated that Stubs doesn’t see himself as a cow. Now, could it get any cuter?
Despite the condition of his legs, Stubs tries to play along with the other animals — he’s trying really hard to keep up. It’s a blessing that he can live in a home where he is supported and feels loved. A loving and sweet cow like Stubs is worthy of all the care he receives right now.
Lots of animals are being kept safe in The Asher House. Thank you to Lee Asher and his team for providing a safe space for unwanted animals to live carefree lives, knowing they’re loved.
