They say good things come in small packages, but we’re here to remind you that sometimes great things come in large packages, too! That’s the case with a gorgeous chocolate lab being fostered in Scottsdale, Arizona. His name is GusGus, and here’s his story as he relates it…
Hello, my name is GusGus, and I’m a 5-year-old chocolate hunk of love! I am a tall, big-boned boy weighing 113 pounds. My foster mom says I’m THE best boy ever. I get along well with my foster siblings, which include a 3-month-old puppy. Puppies can be annoying, but I play gently and will share my bones and treats.
I have a very sweet disposition in that I’m gentle, loving, very quiet, and well-behaved in the house while I’m alone. That’s because I’m housebroken and do not mark on things. I do like to spend time with my people, though, and I will lay beside you and follow you around (to keep you out of trouble, of course).
I must admit that I will try to sneak out any door ahead of you so I can be first to the car or to take you for a walk! Speaking of which, I will need daily walks to give me and my joints some exercise. Could I lose a few pounds? Who couldn’t? It would certainly help keep me healthy and active, which means I’ll be in your life that much longer!
I could benefit from learning some better leash manners, as I hate to admit I do pull when out walking (outside is so exciting!!!!), but I’m working on it. Exuberant, I enjoy stuffed toys so much that I love them to death, so toys of the non-destructible variety are probably best for me. I also love antlers, carrots, apples, and green beans, yum!
I can live by myself or with other dogs. I have no history with children but my foster mom believes because of how gentle I am, I would love children and do well around them. I’m a Lab, after all. I’m also neutered and don’t have any special needs. If you think I could maybe be your future forever dog, please contact Desert Labrador Retriever Rescue about meeting me!
P.S. Please share me with as many people as you know to help up my chances of adoption real soon!
