Life can be difficult when you’re a little kitten in a big world. We often hear about some of the struggles they have, but it’s always nice when we hear about the kindness of humans in their regard.

This was seen in a wonderful way recently in Arkansas.

It seems as if a gray tabby got into some mischief when he was stuck inside of an ATM. Fortunately, someone likely heard him meowing from inside and called for help.

Several rescuers were involved, but ultimately the kitten was pulled from the ATM by the Fort Smith Fire Department, who shared photos of the rescue on Facebook.

Staff was also on hand from Fort Smith Animal Haven, and this was the first time they had ever seen a kitten stuck in such a situation.

After the little kitten was rescued, he was taken to the shelter for some TLC and a check-up. According to 5 News Online, when they heard the story about the little kitten, they decided that “Cash” was the best name for him.

Nobody is really sure why the kitten was inside the ATM but a cat and kennel tech for the shelter spoke to the local news saying that it was likely the kitten was looking for shade.

According to 5 News Online, the vet tech, Ashley Deane, added that it was the first time she had cared for a cat stuck in an ATM. She said:

“You know, I never thought that somebody would be able to go up and make a withdrawal and get a cat out instead of some cash, so now we have both.”

The little kitten is doing well, although he was needing some care, including a good bath. It took about a week but Cash is back on his feet again and is gaining weight so he can get his vaccinations and be with other kittens.

After the story about Cash hits the headlines, it is likely that the requests for adoption are going to start pouring in. You might say that someone is going to do a withdrawal of Cash from the animal shelter.
