Pets are part of the family and when they go missing, it can be heartbreaking.
11-year-old Leandro was left in shambles after his pooch, Mili, went missing from his home in Brazil.
According to The Dodo, Leandro and his family searched high and low for Mili but to no avail.
Word began to spread about her disappearance, but Leandro was starting to lose hope of seeing his best friend again.
When a firefighter across town came across a dog who appeared to be lost, he could’ve left her alone or taken her to the shelter. Instead, he wanted to find the pup’s owner and reunite them if possible. The firefighter began asking around and soon heard about Leandro and his missing dog, Mili.
Having a suspicion that the missing dog he found could be Mili, the firefighter drove all the way to Leandro’s house and found the boy sitting outside crying. The tears soon turned from heartbreak to joy when Leandro spotted Mili.
Leandro quickly grabbed Mili and gave her the biggest hug! It looked like he was never going to let go of her again.
Speaking with The Dodo, the firefighter said: “When we arrived, he was crying tears of relief. Their reunion was magical.”

What a beautiful reunion!
The world could use more Good Samaritans who go out of their way to do the right thing. The firefighter could’ve easily carried on his way or passed the dog off to someone else, but his dedication to reuniting the lost dog with its owner brought so much joy to a small boy’s heart.
