Cincinnati Zoo’s beloved and charismatic hippo named Fiona turned 5 on January 24.
She was spoiled with a multi-layered cake made up of all her favorite foods. Just like a typical 5-year-old, she immediately made a mess of it.
Watch as she tips the cake over and begins to devour the tasty fruit here.
But that was not all.
Celebrities and fans from around the world attended her virtual birthday party and sent her birthday wishes.
A sweet message from Dr. Jane Goodall, British ethologist who spent her life studying and observing chimpanzees, was shared by the zoo for all to see.
“Dear Fiona, this is Jane Goodall to congratulate you on your 5th birthday.”
She went on to comment on Fiona’s premature birth and how thanks to dedicated zoo caretakers she is now a happy and healthy hippo.

“Here you are big and strong. And you are such a good-looking hippo,” she stated.
Goodall shared how “lucky” Fiona is compared to some hippos in Africa who are threatened by drought and poaching. She wished her a “long and happy life” and hopes to meet her someday soon.
She raised a glass to Fiona and said, “I’m now quite sure what hippos would like to drink, but whatever it is – cheers!”
