Dogs love unconditionally and only ask the same in return. Sadly, some are abandoned when they need their humans the most.
An emaciated pit bull was found in the public restroom at Point Defiance Park in Tacoma, Washington. But she was not alone.
The malnourished mama was tied to a suitcase that held her eleven one-week-old puppies. They cried for help and huddled together for warmth. All dogs were in desperate need of care.
Thankfully, they were found just in time and brought to Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County.
The sweet pit bull is a loving mother but wonders what she did wrong to be abandoned by her owner.

The shelter shared the heart-wrenching story on Facebook. They wrote, “We can’t even imagine the fear the mama dog must have felt. The instinct to protect herself and her babies was overwhelming, but she was stuck. They were defenseless and vulnerable.”
The shelter offered mama food, which she quickly devoured, and treated her puppies that were suffering from strangles, a condition that causes facial swelling and skin lesions.
According to Idaho Statesman, mama was named Oolong and the puppies were all named after tea or coffee: Coconut, Peppermint, Venti, Chai, Earl Gray, Macha, Chamomile, Macchiato, Mocha and Caramel.
The shelter is asking for donations to help cover the cost of care until all dogs can be put up for adoption.
“These 12 dogs are lucky to be alive and today they are safe. Your donation right now provides everything they will need to recover – medical care, rehabilitation, a foster home, and love.”
If you are unable to care for your dog or cat, please reach out to your local shelter for help. All pets deserve a loving home.
