When two dogs from two different situations were brought together with the help of a rescue, they immediately hit things off and became good friends.
It all started when Hope For Paws heard about a dog, Chester, who’d been living on the streets for at least a month. Rescuers JoAnn Wiltz and Alex Babcock immediately headed to the Southern California home that’d called them, and they were greeted by the friendly puppy!
The person who’d called them said that they’d tried to take Chester in, but their other dogs didn’t accept him. Worried neighbors left food for the puppy, but no one was offering him a home.
Chester was more than happy to go with JoAnn and Alex and the two loaded him into a kennel and headed back to the animal hospital – but then they received a call about another dog in need of help.
They were in the same neighborhood, so the rescuers headed over to help with Chester in tow. When they arrived at the house, they learned that a small abandoned dog had been wandering around, so a woman lured it into her yard.
The dog, now named Tony, was incredibly scared and ran and hid from the rescuers. He did his best, but eventually, Joann and Alex were able to corner the little dog and get a leash around his neck.
Once back at the animal hospital, Chester and Tony were given baths. Tony was having a hard time adjusting, but Chester was there to comfort him!
Chester, the bigger of the two, gently encouraged Tony and helped him come out of his shell. Within a few days, the two were running and playing together!
