An innocent-looking Great Pyrenees gave his dog walker quite a scare when he picked up a sharp knife mid-walk and started wielding it around.

I remember when I was growing up, my cousins always had golden retriever dogs and puppies. One of their puppies was notorious for picking up the largest sticks he could find and he loved to chase people with the sticks until they caved and agreed to a game of fetch.

One time, the little pup thought he was carrying a stick in his mouth but he’d actually managed to find a giant butcher knife. Needless to say, it was quite terrifying running from him as he chased us around with his usual antics. It would’ve been all fun and games, but a slice with that knife on our legs would’ve really hurt!

If you’ve owned a dog before, you know just how into their sticks they can get, and when that stick ends up being a knife, it can get dangerous really quick.

That’s the situation Matt Paprocki found himself in. Matt was walking Theo the Great Pyrenees when he noticed something shiny in Theo’s mouth. After realizing the dog was holding a knife, Matt quickly commanded, “Theo, drop the knife.”

Of course, Theo didn’t listen and continued to hold the knife in his mouth and wield it around, leaving Matt unsure how to proceed.

Matt shared a video of Theo with the knife on Twitter, saying, “I’m 42. I’ve owned dogs my entire life. Somehow I was totally unprepared for this moment.”

We can’t blame him!

Check out the hilarious clip below:

For those who were worried, Matt added, “(Yes, we got it from him. He found it in a pile of branches. I’m just the dog walker. His owner rushed home from work with salmon and whipped cream to trade for the knife. It worked.)”

As they say, all is well that ends well.
