Dogs want little more than to spend every moment of every day with their humans. Most dog owners have jobs to attend to and life to live outside the home, which means a lot of time spent in a kennel, backyard, room in the house, or the border for our furry companions.

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, many dogs had their dreams come true when more and more people took on remote work or unemployment. In other words, some dogs had their humans home all day every day!

As people return to working in person and things begin to open up again, some dogs are having a hard time adjusting to life as it was before. Most dogs would rather not see their owners off to work in the morning and would prefer that they stay right at home.

That was true for one stubborn husky named Dakota. She knew what it meant when her owner had to leave for work and she wanted nothing to do with it. In fact, sometimes she’d even protest her owner leaving for work!

One such protest was caught on video and shared on YouTube and it’s quite amusing to watch. In the video, you can see Dakota at the top of the stairs. Her owner calls her down the stairs, trying to get her to go into the yard so he can leave for work.

Dakota happily hops up at the sound of her owner’s voice and starts down the stairs. However, the moment her owner says, “I got to go to work,” Dakota quickly turns back around and darts back up the stairs.

Her owner wrote in the video, “I shouldnt have said I got to go to work!”

Her owner continues to try coaxing her down the stairs, but knowing it’s because he has to go to work, Dakota doesn’t budge.

“Dakota hates it when her owner has to go to work because she has to go outside and gets so lonely. Don’t worry Dakota, she always comes home!” the description says.
