Back in 2016, life was looking bleak for Guinness.
Someone tied him up at a boat storage facility without access to food or water and left him there. No one is sure how long the poor dog was tied up and alone, but help arrived before things could get worse.
Guinness ended up at animal control in Crescent City, California, where volunteers with Dogs of Del Norte worked to help Guinness find a forever family.
They shared photos of the sweet black pittie dressed up for holidays, but still, nobody came for him.
They got him involved in adorable photoshoots and talked to interested adopters about how great he is. But still, nobody came for him.
Soon, months turned to a year, and eventually two.
The volunteers at the shelter worked hard to give the dogs plenty of exercise and stimulation, but they can only do so much, and Guinness spent a lot of time in his kennel.
Amazingly, after two and a half long years, Guinness finally went home! Steve and Sarah heard about Guinness and knew he’d be a good fit for their lives.
