‘Love conquers all’ is proven in the following rescue story.
A dog on the brink of death in China was rescued just in time and thanks to an outpouring of love and amazing care he is on the road to recovery.
Humane Society International shared the incredible rescue story on Facebook and thanked their partner VShine, an animal protection agency in China, who rescued and helped care for the dog.
Rescuers were heartbroken when they found the large dog dumped on a pile of trash to die. The dog was unable to move, due to suspected broken legs, and appeared to be suffering from distemper.
He was whimpering in pain as rescuers carried him to the car. They rushed him to an animal hospital where he received over 200 stitches.
It was clear the pup had never known a kind touch or experienced love before, but that was about to change.
Rescuers decided to name him Little Horse and were determined to do everything in their power to save him.
The medical team was unsure if the mistreated pup would pull through – but he did!
Little Horse is experiencing love for the first time through hugs, kisses, and daily snuggles with caregivers. Every day he grows stronger, but he still has a long road ahead of him. Luckily, he is surrounded by people who will continue to show him love and provide the best care until he is ready to find a forever home.
He enjoys spending time with other animals at the clinic and is the sweetest boy.
HSI thanked their partners and their supporters who made the rescue and Little Horse’s second chance possible.
Thousands of people were moved by his story and commended everyone involved.
One person wrote, “I loved seeing the human love Little Horse received … often, that is the support they need to fight/pull through. How heartbreaking to have seen where/how he was found but thank you to his rescue team!!”
Another said, “Had me in tears!!!So happy he is doing a lot better now. Thanks so much for helping him and not giving up on him.”
The Humane Society of the United States shared a video that shows the resilient pup howling for the first time, which is guaranteed to bring a tear to your eye.
