We all have barriers we must contend with in life. Dogs also have those barriers, but it doesn’t mean they aren’t willing to break free from time to time.
When Friends of Minneapolis Animal Care and Control saw what happened with two stray dogs, they couldn’t help but share it. Those strays, Brenda and Linda, arrived at the shelter together.
They wanted to give the newcomers some time alone before allowing them to be with the rest of the dogs in the kennel. They were placed next to each other in separate kennels, but 4-year-old Brenda didn’t appreciate it.
Brenda couldn’t stand being away from her 7-year-old best friend, Linda. The problem was, a kennel wall was keeping them apart.
In the original video, you can see Brenda jumping over the kennel wall to get to her friend. This baffled staff workers, who came in about an hour later and had no idea why these dogs were in the same kennel.
Unfortunately, that original video was deleted but you can still clearly see the love between these two in other videos.
So Happy Together
The shelter posted another video of Brenda jumping the wall, saying that now, the two were sharing a bigger kennel with each other. They also outlined their differences, saying Brenda was a ‘helper dog’ but Linda just existed with others when they were in a group setting.
You can see them in this video posted by the shelter. The brown dog is Brenda and the white dog with brown patches is Linda.

Interestingly, Brenda and Linda were already bonded with each other before they arrived at the shelter. The woman who took the dogs and kept them over the weekend while the shelter was closed, Vada Karlen, shared pictures of the dog cuddling with each other.
These two dogs got a lot of attention, so the shelter decided to post an update. The TikTok video, which includes the ‘Happy Together’ song, shows the original video of Brenda jumping the wall and the two of them leaving the kennel together, on their way to a forever home.
@friendsofmacc Brenda and Linda found their furever home TOGETHER! Thank you to all of our frens who shared to make this pawsible for them💕🐾#happytogether #bestfriends
I just love it when a story has a happy ending.
