A kind dog was caught on film comforting their foster brother, a Great Dane who suffers from severe separation anxiety.
Yeti, formerly known as Tofu, was taken in by the Northwest Florida Great Dane Rescue back in February 2020. According to a post shared by the rescue, 3-year-old Yeti was found to be nearly fully blind and suffered from hearing impairments.
In addition to his physical challenges, Yeti also had “major separation anxiety issues.”
It wasn’t long before Yeti was welcomed into a foster home, where he formed a bond with his new foster sister, Zoot.
Knowing he was new to the home and unsure how he’d react, his new foster mom decided to set up a hidden camera to see what he’d do when she left the house. After reviewing the footage, she could hardly believe what she saw!

While away from the home, Yeti (called Tofu at the time) hopped onto her large kitchen island and stood on top of it.
But what was even more surprising was that most of the time she was away, he wasn’t getting into mischief, but spent his time crying at the door. That was understandable, considering his diagnosed separation anxiety. However, he didn’t spend his time crying alone.
His foster sister, Zoot, was seen in the video by his side, refusing to leave him while he cried! She even rested her head on him, as if to give him a comforting hug.
How sweet is that?
Yeti enjoyed his time having a loving sister, but he eventually went on to find a loving forever home with a new dad in Pace, Florida.
He’ll always have memories of the sweet dog who comforted him though. Watch the touching video of the moment below:
