This need is especially high among orphaned kittens, who require bottle feeding and constant attention to survive their early days in the shelter without mom. Photo: Pixabay Foster parent...

Using animals for cosmetics testing is cruel, inhumane, and unnecessary. Governor Phil Murphy signed New Jersey’s Humane Cosmetics Act into law, which will ban the sale of cosmetics that have been newly tested on animals. The Garden State is the eighth state to ban the sale of animal-tested cosmetics. They join California, Nevada, Illinois, Virginia, Maryland, Maine and Hawaii. Photo: Unsplash/Universal Eye...
Easy Ways to Stop the Bark
Dogs communicate using a variety of vocal signals including howling, whining, growling, yelping and barking. While most of this language is easy for humans to understand, constant barking can make even the most informed of caregivers tear their hair out in frustration. Dogs who bark excessively cause their families such distress that some resort to using equipment like anti-bark collars just to get some peace. While these devices might promise a quick-fix cure, they are highly aversive and generally cause dogs more distress, putting a...
