Neglected Husky Trapped In Backyard Is Finally Freed After Years Of Loneliness
Our hearts really go out to dogs that don’t have the companions they need or deserve in life. Those of us who have dogs by our side realize that they not only crave companionship, they are the best companions we could have. Perhaps that is why someone was so concerned when they noticed that their neighbor’s dog was being neglected. The dog was a husky, named Joey, and he was left outside 24 hours a day. Wildcats May Be Reintroduced to South West England After Being Extirpated From the Region
Once common across the United Kingdom, the European wildcat is now found only in Scotland, where it’s on the verge of extinction. Hunters extirpated the animal from most of Wales and England by the 18th century, but wildlife advocates are looking into bringing them back to one region in England. The Devon Wildlife Trust, a charity that manages 60 nature reserves in the county of Devon, has launched a project exploring the possibility of reintroducing wildcats to South West England. They hope to appoint a Wildcat Project Officer to lead...

The relationship between cats and dogs is really something interesting. On one hand, they’re known for being enemies, but on the other hand, they can make the best of friends. There’s just something about the smell of pine needles and stringing lights that makes my heart so happy. My dog, on the other hand, would prefer I keep the tree outside. Dogs and cats are notorious enemies but that doesn’t mean there aren’t exceptions. In fact, a lot of dogs and cats that live in the same family are like siblings to each other! He and our cat got along so well, they’d often be found snuggling together in the sunny spots of the yard and they’re not alone with their relationship. Just ask Vicki Reed! Understanding Sudden Vision Loss in Dogs
Sudden acquired retinal degeneration syndrome, aka SARDS, is a medical condition wherein a dog suddenly loses its vision over a period of several days to a matter of weeks. More commonly seen in older canines between the ages of 8 and 10 that are mixed breeds, it also tends to afflict spayed females for some reason. Unfortunately, the condition cannot be reversed. SARDS in Dogs While all canines regardless of breed can be struck by SARDS, some — such as dachshunds, beagles, and pugs — are reportedly predisposed to it. At the same...
