This morning, I woke up and made myself a pumpkin spice latte since it’s the season for it. But whether it’s a regular latte, a pumpkin spice one, or an iced latte, there is one thing that I can say with certainty: I love coffee.

It’s very much a necessary part of my routine, but besides that, I love the smell.

I’ve always loved the smell of coffee, even as a kid. There is something about it that just reminds me of home and big family breakfasts on Sundays. But I also know that not everyone likes coffee…or even the smell of coffee.

Everyone’s tastes are different, including our animals. Just like humans, our pets have their own versions of what smells appealing and what doesn’t.

As it turns out for one little calico cat living in Carrara, Italy, coffee isn’t her preferred scent of choice. In a rather adorable video, we get to see exactly what the cat thinks of the coffee and how she tries to deal with the smell.

Like most cats, this little feline can’t help but climb up onto the kitchen counter. While she’s up there, she decides to take a whiff of what’s in her human’s cup: espresso. It turns out, the strong scent of the coffee is a little too much for this cat to take.

As soon as she gets a whiff of the distinct aroma, she starts trying to bury it! This action is quite similar to what cats do in the bathroom, so we can only assume she’s trying to tell her owner that the coffee does not smell nice.
