Cats are many things. Subtle is not one of them. In fact, cats can be quite extra when the mood strikes.

They know precisely how to pull focus at any given moment, whether it’s mealtime, playtime, or nap time.

Cats march to the beat of their own drum and they do as they please. In fact, if you’re a cat owner you’ve probably made peace with the fact that it’s the cat’s world, and you’re just living in it.

Of course, this can often lead to some pretty silly moments caught on camera. And one cat owner, 26-year-old Emily Marzullo from Queensland, Australia, had an interesting encounter with her cat.

Apparently, the feline refused to accept that he wasn’t the baby of the family. Marzullo has a nine-month-old son, but she was surprised when she got a notification of movement on her phone.

At the time, her son wasn’t in his crib, so it was understandable that Marzullo would be confused by the notification on her phone alerting her to the movement. We can only imagine any parent in that situation would be thoroughly freaked out. However, it turned out to be a funny false alarm.

Rather than it being anything nefarious, the result was Marzullo’s cat, Mr. Pickles. The feisty feline had decided to climb into the crib for some playtime with the baby’s mobile. As Marzullo watched, the cat happily laid on his back, swatting at the toys. Adorable, right?

Clearly, Mr. Pickles wholeheartedly believes he is the baby of the family.
