Last month, we wrote about how Cadbury was hosting tryouts to find its fourth annual “Easter Bunny.”
Now, after receiving thousands of entries, the chocolatier has announced 10 finalists–including dogs, a cat, a hedgehog, a parrot, a miniature therapy horse, and an adorable llama–in this year’s competition. Naturally, each adorable animal looks great in bunny ears. It’s going to be hard to choose!
Former Cadbury “bunnies” have included Henri the English Bulldog, a two-legged pup named Lieutenant Dan, and a sweet frog named Betty. In addition to joining Easter’s cutest club, this year’s “bunny” will hop, walk, or fly away with $5,000 and a starring role in Cadbury’s easter commercial.
This year’s finalists also include rescued animals, like Will O’ Wisp, a Texas cat who lost her tail following a nasty bout of gangrene. Now the 2-year-old rescue cat could become Cadbury’s fourth Easter “bunny”!
Aspiring spokes-rabbits also include an English poodle and a miniature horse who work as therapy animals.
Annie Rose, the therapy dog, spent much of the pandemic visiting nursing homes in Ohio, where lonely residents weren’t allowed to receive human visitors. “During Covid she dressed up and worked hard doing window visits,” Annie Rose’s bio explains. “She loves doing therapy work.”
Another 2022 finalist, Sweetheart, also loves working with people, particularly children, veterans, first responders, and victims of gun violence. “Sweet therapy horse Sweetheart brings love to thousands of patients inside children’s and veterans’ hospitals across the country each year,” her bio reads.
It’s going to be tough deciding which of these loving pets deserves Easter’s top title, which is why Cadbury is asking for your help selecting a winner!
You can cast a vote for your favorite animal through March 22, 2022. Cadbury will also donate $5,000 to the ASPCA for every 5,000 votes up to $20,000, so make sure to vote daily and often for your favorite animals. May the best bunny win!
Meet the rest of this year’s finalists:
